Curriculum
Learning through Play
OUr Approach
We follow the Early Year Foundation Stages (EYFS) Framework as outlined by the UK government.
We have a strong ethos of ‘Learning through Play’. Play is essential for children’s early development, building their confidence as they learn to explore, to think about problems and relate to others.
Children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities that interest them and/or learn about different cultures and seasonal events (e.g. Autumn leaf picking, growing pumpkins for Halloween, celebrating World Book Day, etc).
Children are also encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities, e.g. singing, cooking, indoor and outdoor games.
Children are encouraged to follow their interests both indoors and outdoors.
All of these activities introduce new experiences, support development of new skills, as well as learning how to work with others.
We use the Tapestry app and provide an End of Year/Term book/folder to share updates on the children's activities with parents.
